The month of April is a very exciting and unifying time for Parkhurst Dining. It’s Team Member Appreciation Month! Across the 13 states where we currently do business, every single one of our sites takes time to recognize the hard work and dedication of its team members. This tradition has gone on – in some form – for Parkhurst’s 25 years in business, and though COVID put a bit of a damper on celebrations last year, that only meant that there was extra fun to be had in 2021.
Our company purpose is to Create A Smile. Our hardworking team members create smiles every day, which was especially important over the past year. From a cheery welcome into the university dining hall to boosting morale for essential workers, these small moments have a huge impact. During Team Member Appreciation Month, it’s our team members’ turn to be on the receiving end of Create A Smile!
In the slideshow above, we’ve compiled just a few of the Team Member Appreciation celebration highlights from across our footprint! Whether it was letting their inner superhero shine, receiving dozens of handwritten notes (and their very own hockey jersey), or enjoying tropical treats, our sincere hope is that Parkhurst team members understand how truly valued they are. Preparation for Team Member Appreciation starts long before the parties, and in March, our Human Resources team got to work assembly line style to build and ship 125 “Party in a Box” kits to our sites, which were filled with goodies for their Appreciation celebrations:
To our team members, it can be all too easy to write off incredible accomplishments as “just part of the job”. In many cases, they create smiles just by being themselves! But part of the goal of our Team Member Appreciation festivities is to make them feel special, and ask them to take a step back and look at all that they’ve accomplished – especially during a global pandemic. Our Mercyhurst University team even crunched some numbers!
In addition to being thankful (all year ’round!) for our team members, we’re also grateful to our guests and clients who go the extra mile to let our team members know how important they are. The students from Franciscan University of Steubenville had some incredible things to say about their Parkhurst team, and we know it made their days!
